7 Ways to Treat Yourself on Valentine’s Day

We celebrate love on Valentine’s Day, and that includes loving the most important person in your life–YOU.  Just because you’re single (like me!) it doesn’t mean you can’t do something nice on February 14th.  This year, make it a point to do something special for yourself.  Taking time to pamper and focus on yourself isn’t overindulgent, it’s important and you’re worth it!

1 – GET COZY

 Grab yourself a fluffy blanket, a mug of hot chocolate or a glass of wine, some snacks, and binge watch all the shows you’ve been wanting to catch up on. Y’all know I’ll be watching “Good Mythical Morning,” on YouTube, but you can binge on “Being Mary Jane,” “The Walking Dead,” or even just “SpongeBob,” no one’s gonna judge you!

2 – GET SEXY

Upgrade your lingerie and pajamas! There’s absolutely no reason to look crusty just because no one’s going to see you! YOU are going to see you, and that’s where confidence starts. I love this new Calvin Klein underwear set I recently purchased in red. I had the grey color already and they are so comfy, and obviously really cute to sleep in! I also have this pink lace bra set from AdoreMe which is a really great place to get affordable lingerie.
 
For something super sexy, I’m obsessed with this Bombshell Add 2 Cups Push-Up bra in pink lace from Victoria’s Secret. In the pajama department, this cute sleep romper, sexy pink satin sleep shirt, and this super comfy sleepover robe are on my “to buy” list.

3 – GET PAMPERED

Treat yourself to a mani/pedi, a facial, a massage–or all three if you’re feeling fancy! Book an appointment at your favorite day spa or salon, or totally DIY it and have a spa day at home. I love treating my skin to a purifying face mask. This one by Boscia is a peel-off mask to clean out your pores, and it really works! It leaves my skin feeling refreshed and soft!


4 – GET BUBBLY

Relax with a bubble bath, a good book or a stack of magazines, and a glass of champagne — or light some candles and listen to a relaxing playlist.  My bath tray is from Bed, Bath and Beyond.  My go-to bubble bath these days is Honeymania Bubble Bath Melt from the Body Shop.  It smells sooo good and leaves my skin silky and soft.  There’s also a scrub in the same scent.  And don’t forget to slather on the body butter when you’re done!
 

5 – GET MUSHY

Write yourself a love letter – Get out your journal and write down everything you love about YOU! Focus on all of your positive attributes. Write down your accomplishments–no matter how small they seem. Take time to realize how dope you really are! It may sound silly but self-love is a major key, so write it down so you know it’s real!

6 – DO YOU!

Spend time with yourself by indulging in your favorite activity.  Do you enjoy crafting, cooking, or even exercising?  Let today be the day that you spend catching up on whatever it is you love to do but you haven’t been making time for lately. For me, that’s writing and drawing…oh and deep conditioning my hair!

7 – GIVE BACK

The best way to feel love is to spread love. Pampering not your thing? Spend the day volunteering–whether it’s the animal shelter, a children’s home, or a homeless shelter, making someone else feel special is the fastest way to brighten your day.
